The Sony Ericsson S500i is a fashion- and style-conscious slider phone replete with functionality. At 99 x 47 x 14 mm, the S500i is a head-turner for the mobile phone user who is always on the go and wanting to stay in contact with friends, family and work colleagues. For starters, it comes in an intriguing mysterious green colour or a glamorous spring yellow colour.

Weighing 94g, it has a solid but slim feel and comes with a large clear screen displaying up to 262k colours (240 x 320 pixels resolution). There is 2 megapixel camera complete with dedicated menus, 4 x digital zoom, video recording and video streaming, plus direct interaction with the phone’s messaging services.

It offers a built-in music player (Bluetooth stereo-compatible – A2DP) and comes with the PlayNow™ download service which allows you to download their music within three clicks of a button. It supports MP3 and polyphonic ringing tones which can be changed to suit your style.

For connectivity, the S500i comes with an Access NetFront™ Internet browser with RSS feeds, delivering a mobile Internet service. You can browse the Internet and manage emails the S500i and connect to your PC and exchange music or photo files between the devices using drag & drop. It supports EDGE high speed data transfer technology, Bluetooth for a wireless connection between devices and USB cable connection. The S500i is a quad band phone providing international roaming which automatically switches between network bands.

It comes with several games embedded in the phone and a flight mode feature which allows you to use a selection of phone features while on board a plane or in other mobile phone restricted areas.

The S500i comes with 12 MB internal memory and a memory slot which allows the user to expand their phones memory further by adding a Micro™ M2™ memory card. Battery life is rated at 370 hours of standby time or nine hours of talk time from a full charge.
